About Us
My name is Anahit LaBarre. I am an independent travel agent for eTravel
Unlimited. Please take a moment and read my story. And maybe that will
tell you why I committed myself to excellent customer service and a
successful career.
My Background
I am originally from Armenia. I love my country: it gave me a very memorable
childhood and great education. I have an incredible family there. But in
2001 I came to the United States looking for better opportunities due to
economical and political difficulties in Armenia. I went to the Colorado
Center for the Blind for some blindness skills training. That is where I met
my husband. After the graduation I worked with the State of Colorado and at
a store called Beyond Sight for a little over a year.
My husband and I have two young children. It has been an incredible experience.
Being a parent completely changes one's perspective on everything. So the last
five years of my life have been dedicated to raising our kids. They are growing
and now I have a little time to devote to myself.
My Business
Travel business was one of the part-time opportunities that caught my attention.
I always loved traveling maybe because I did a lot of it since I was very young.
In early 1990s I spent a total of one year in Canada. After I graduated from the
University in Armenia I worked as an interpreter which gave me a wonderful
opportunity to visit a few countries, and since I moved to the United States
travel has been an important part of my life. Our son Alexander is four and a
half and he has already been on 42 planes. That tells you how much our family
liked visiting different cities, and experiencing sights, cultures, dining,
and recreation at every location.
So I made the decision to become a part of the travel industry world. It
is something that is not directly related to my education (I am a Russian teacher)
but I intend to use all the elements my education provided me. First, and the most
important thing a teacher needs to be really good at is communication so I
intend to do my absolute best in communicating with my clients, finding out
their needs, listening to what they really want and what they do not want to
experience. It is their interest that comes first.
Another very useful skill I have as a teacher is research. I enjoy doing that.
So as part of my job I would be happy to find out for my clients all the
valuable information about the place that is their travel destination.
And I also have a wonderful advantage of a host company with the networking
ability and support. Travel is something that you can not possibly learn
everything about. There is so much and it changes every day. So I think what
makes a very good travel agent is not only the experience but also the
willingness to learn, use the network you have access to and having a
commitment to excellent customer service.

and every customer: to listen to their needs, understand them and try to
